The story of Claire Reid is interesting and uplifting. To be honest, I had never heard of her until I read an article in International Tattoo Art. The one fact that surprised me was her young age. Still in her twenties. Her work lead me to believe she had more experience and age under her belt. Claire is an existentialist which is to say she believes that “the individual is solely responsible for giving his or her own life meaning and for living that life passionately and sincerely”. You can see in the quality of her tattoo artwork as well her paintings just how much of herself goes into her work.
Claire travels around the world and actually encourages people to invite her to work at their studios. What a cool gypsy like way to live. Taking advantage of having the type of profession that will allow you that freedom must be a wonderful feeling. She gets her inspiration from her travels and learning about the various cultures she is exposed to.
