Tattoo Artist: Justin Weatherholtz

I have to assume Justin Weatherholtz is a very modest and humble artist. I didn’t find a load of interviews online and he has a very tiny bio on the shop site.

Justin began his career in 1999 in Pennsylvania working at a shop called Wizard World. From what I can gather, at one time, Justin worked at All or Nothing Tattoo in Atlanta Georgia. It’s one of the most respected shops and full of talent with Brandon Bond being one of the more well known artists.

His current residence is in New York working out of Kings Avenue Tattoo which has two shops in NY, one in Manhattan and one on Long Island. He’s been working there since 2007 but he likes to travel the convention circuit. He enjoys traveling and doing guest spots so you may have an opportunity to get a piece by Justin without traveling to the northeast.

His color artwork uses a multitude of colors to achieve lighting effects that bring his subjects to life. I’m a fan of black and grey so I featured 2 of his pieces in that style but if you prefer color, you’ll find lots of color tattoos he’s done – just check out MySpace or the shop site.
