Tattoo Artist: Nate Beavers
I have the utmost respect for this artist. There is no style that I’ve seen this man tattoo that he does not excel in. Color and black and gray. Portraits – human and animal alike. He hails from Houston Texas but travels the tattoo convention circuit both here and abroad. He is an award winning artist who runs his own old school style tattoo shop. He began working in the tattoo business when he worked the counter at his brother’s shop.
His history has made him the man and artist he is today. He was a troubled youth and his younger adult years were rifled with hardships. He is a reformed drug addict and alcoholic who has now immersed his life into his craft and says he is now taking it seriously. One of the surprising facts about his tattoo career is that he received little to no training. He said where he learned to tattoo he was force to jump right into it and learn along the way. He says was forced to pick it up quickly which is now benefiting him in his career. The guy is super talented yet super humble which is such a nice combination. No super ego here.
He says his favorite subject is animals which I think shows in this great portrait.
