Tattoo Artist: Ryan Hadley
Ryan Hadley specializes in realistic and intricate portraits that truly capture the likeness of the individuals he’s portraying. His artwork jumps off the skin, his eyes look like they are glistening with life, and he is able to capture the essence of the person he is tattooing.
His career started on a rocky platform. He didn’t go through an apprenticeship initially but instead learned by working on trusting friends. He was discouraged with the quality of work he was doing. He was so put off by his first attempts at tattooing that he decided it wasn’t for him and didn’t do any work for a couple of years. (Yikes! - that would have been a shame!!) But the draw of tattooing tempted him again and he decided to give it another try. Fortunately, he ended up working in a real studio this time. This made all the difference for Hadley.
To show you how talented an artist he is, he was painting houses for a living and doing a tattoo out of his house one in a while for extra cash. One of the guys he had inked went into a local professional shop and the shop wanted to know about the artist, they found out he was working from home, and offered him a job.
I would say Ryan Hadley is one of the top 10 tattoo portrait artists currently working in the field. He is constantly perfecting and tweaking his style.
He owns and works out of Revolution Tattoo Gallery in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He started working the tattoo convention circuit in 2007 so you may have the opportunity to see him at work if you attend some of the bigger shows.
