Nick Chaboya has become one of the biggest names in the world of tattoo artists and also is winning praise for his paintings. He finds the time not only to dish out some amazing tattoos but also to have showings of his paintings. He mostly works in oil and acrylic.
He’s been tattooing for almost 10 years now and began his tattoo career after beginning college which is when he got his first tattoo. Fortunately, the shop that he patronized consisted of open minded artists who gladly shared some of their knowledge with Nick during the process of planning and applying a sleeve for him.
His preference for tattooing is unusual to how most artists approach a tattoo piece. He likes to apply the black and grey before adding color to the tattoo. He says the color holds up better by using this technique. He approaches his tattoos like a painting and describes his style as loose.
Fortunately, Nick likes to travel and do the convention circuit so you’ll have a chance to see him work even if you don’t live in the California area. He also does guest gigs at other shops.
