Thea Duskin claims that she settled in Richmond by chance. Short on money and traveling the East Coast landed her in Virginia. She says it’s a great place for a tattoo artist. She is co-owner of Ghostprint Gallery in Richmond. It also houses an art gallery and is located close to museums, tattoo studios, and art galleries. She shares her shop with talented artists Jesse Smith and Jason Stephan. The artists she most admires and that she says influences her tattoo work include Guy Aitchison, Amanda Wachob, Nick Baxter, Stephan Chaudesaigues, and Jeff Gogue.
Her work has its own style with many of her pieces leaving behind the heavy black outline that typifies most body art. Her pieces look like they were done with watercolors instead of tattoo ink. She also expresses her art through other mediums and says she loves to experiment. Not surprisingly, watercolor is one of her favorites.
